Signature Chorizo Sliders

Every restaurant has a burger. Some are basic, while others have more “personality” to them. I’ve seen almost anything atop a burger, including fried eggs, an 8 ounce block of cream cheese, fried chicken, guacamole, cole slaw, and the list goes on. While I truly enjoy the unique, shall we say “wierd”, twist that some burgers have, there are few burgers that I think...

Farm Tour 2018

In our area of North Florida, there are plenty of farms. People raise beef cattle, chickens (for meat or eggs), vegetables, citrus, cotton, and of course the Glendower Farms Iberian pig operation. Every fall, we have the farm tour, an organized tour open to any local farm (even hobby farms) who would like to participate. The organizer, Millstone Plantation, puts together a booklet with details about each participating farm, and what they have to offer. On the day of the tour...

Who Invited Michael?

We always enjoy having visitors to Glendower Farms. I like to say there are two types of tours to choose from: the petting zoo, and the real deal. The petting zoo feels like Charlotte’s Web. People take a bite, close their eyes, and sigh audibly. Conversation comes to a halt, other than random exclamations about how good these chops are, and nobody is offended. They are experiencing the same mouth-watering deliciousness, and are unable to think of anything but the next bite...

The History of Glendower Farms

Once upon a time, in the 1830’s, a man named John Finlayson had a dream to work his own farm. He moved from South Carolina to a small community in North Florida settling on a beautiful property and beginning farming. He and his wife raised their children, who raised their grandchildren, who raised their great-grandchildren, and so on. Years down the line, I married my sweet husband and moved to this beautiful property. Our children love to tell that they are the 8th generation to live on the Glendower Farm property.
